...
When this project came to light, Aether BIM team would have been created two years after. Nevertheless, this project was, in some way or another, the kernel of our team today. AD3 Studio trusted us as “professional individuals” to participate in a first-of-its-kind project that will introduce BIM to our local market. AD3 Studio created the architectural/structural model, a professional electrical team created the electrical model (obviously), while we, created the mechanical model.
The aim was to create an LOD300 model, that will be given to the contractor, who shall upgrade it to an LOD400 model and produce shop drawings out of it. The process took about 8 sweaty months, stuffed with correspondence, meetings with the client and the consultant, and continuous updates until the model reached maturity. Well, as mature as it could be!
Looking back through the looking glass, when we see how cooperative and patient, rather eager was the consultant to examine the model with us, to mine it for design mistakes, to rectify them and resend us a pack of updated drawings; when we recall the perfection sought by every team member; how brainstorming ignited the creativity in us; that is when we say that we were chuffed to bits by being part of this project.
